Responsibilities:
The Building Department exists to ensure the safety of our current and future residents. The Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector examines new construction or remodeling projects to determine if they are in compliance with the state & local codes and ordinances. He is also in charge of issuing the following:
- Building Permits (and renewals)
- Demolition Permits
- Certificates of Occupancy
- Certificates of Compliance
Hours of Operation:
Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:00am - 10:00am.

Building permit applications may be obtained at the Petersburgh Town Hall, from the Building Department and Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours.
Building permit applications are available on this page, please remember this is an application not the actual Building Permit.
You must fill out the application and send it to the Building Inspector for approval.
Please send inquiries to BuildingDepartment@Petersburgh.org and include the following information:
1. Name(s) of property owner and contractor (if applicable);
2. Physical address of where work is to be performed;
3. Type of work or structure;
4. E-mail address.
5. Please make sure when you submit the Applications, contractors must include the Liabilities and Workmen's Comp Insurance to be approved.
